It’s been a while since we heard that Sony Ericsson might get involved in the creation of Windows Phone device, but nothing concrete came out of that idea. Now we have some fresh pictures of a mystery phone that’s made by SE and supposed to run Windows Phone. There was another leak last year of a handset called Julie, also WP material, but that was eventually canceled.

Now we have what looks like a slider, considering how bulky this phone and that “break” area in the middle. Since Sony was all about Android at CES, I expect a surprise at MWC 2012 next month, maybe even that WP Mango unit we’re hearing about these days. What you see here is a mere prototype, not for sale and it could be the start of a beautiful friendship between Sony and Microsoft. Although they compete on the console market with the Xbox and PlayStation, it will be interesting to see Sony making a phone with Xbox services…

I guess that allowing Sony to also implement a PlayStation app on the phone would be a good will gesture from MS… These are all speculations, so take them with a grain of salt. In the meantime, how does a 4 inch QWERTY slider with Mango OS, 1.4GHz processor and 8 megapixel camera sound? Of course, I’m talking about this device made by SE.
