Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, or as some call it “the PSP Phone” has just reached our loving hands. The unboxing was exciting, since I’m a gamer and owner of the PS1, PS2 and PSP consoles, so I found this gadget to be the ultimate smartphone. You can watch as we unveil the handset and accessories after the break:

Inside the box there’s the Xperia Play handset, the in-ear headphones, a car charger, the standard charger, an USB cable and a bunch of manuals. The smartphone slides easily, revealing the gaming controls, that are easily accessible. I really liked the flexibility of the shoulder L and R buttons, plus the volume button between them.

Sadly, the Xperia Play takes a while to load, well at least the first time you start it. It runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread, but the OS is so customized that you won’t even recognize it’s Android. More about our adventures with this gaming phone will be found in the full review, coming in the following days.
