The Sony Xperia SP has been rumored and leaked from back in the days when it was known under the codenamed HuaShan. Also dubbed C530X, this handset has now leaked again, this time in shots that compare it to the Sony Xperia V, as shown below. The Xperia SP may be announced at MWC 2013 this month, or maybe even before that.
The SP will be a bit larger than the V, that’s 4.3 inch in diagonal, so we may be dealing with a 4.5 inch touchscreen here. The resolution will be 720p HD according to rumors and the Sony Xperia SP will also feature a 1.7 GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor. The same source of the leak is saying that the new Xperia has a plastic back cover, that allows access to the SIM card slot and microSD, but the battery is non removable.
Sony Xperia SP will arrive with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean on board and the prototype in the pictures is described as crashing a lot and being “generally unstable”. Of course, since it’s a prototype Sony will take the time and eliminate all problems. No idea what the price, launch date or quantity of RAM will be in this case…
