Sony has been more impressive in leaks than in the real life handsets they launched this year. Among the first category we find the Xperia Yuga, already leaked in a bunch of benchmarks and now once again associated to some rumors. And boy, are these rumors great! We’re talking Exynos CPU and OLED display!
Sony C660X Yuga is supposed to pack a Samsung Exynos 5 Quad chipset, moving away from Qualcomm, for some reason. The information comes from a poster in the IT168 forums, who also talks about 3 GB of RAM and a 16 megapixel camera. He also adds that there’s a 1080p 5 inch display in the mix, plus 128 GB of storage, a 3000 mAh battery, an infrared port and water/dust resistance. It all sounds too good to be true, making this device even more appealing than the Galaxy S IV, even before seeing that model.
Speaking of which, the following Galaxy S is rumored to also rely on the same Exynos 5 Quad chipset. The problem is that a quad core Cortex A15 CPU may be too power consuming even for a 3000 mAh battery… and also Sony has never made an OLED display phone till now. Another rumor is saying that the Yuga will have a glass back like the iPhone 4 and 4S, plus Nexus 4. I guess we’ll find out at CES and MWC what’s real and what’s not…
