Sony announced a press event for September 2nd at IFA 2015 and already leaks are accompanying that announcement. What you’re seeing below is a hands on picture supposedly showing the looks of the Xperia Z5 and Z5 Compact.
The Z5 is said to be the very first model in the series to pack a fingerprint scanner. The handset is shown here displaying the authentication fingerprint mechanism, with a brand new button on the side. The device is pictured next to an iPhone 6 and then on the left next to a supposed Xperia Z5 Compact. We take this with a grain of salt and I have to say the new On/Off button from the side is similar to the one from the render leaked a few days ago.
Interestingly the fingerprint scanners will somehow be embedded on the side, into the On/Off button we just mentioned. Most companies go with a front placed sensor like that, fit within a Home button and some integrated it at the back below the camera. The leakster was also keen on mentioning the Z5 won’t come with an USB Type C port.
