A couple of very reliable sources claim that Nokia is making two Android phones with Android Nougat on board and solid high end specs, to be unveiled in the first quarter of 2017. The newcomers are supposed to be water and dust resilient and more details are offered below.
These high end models will come in two sizes, one a 5.2 incher and the other a 5.5 incher and speculations talk about a Quad HD resolution for at least one of them and an OLED panel. Nokia is said to have improved its Z Launcher behind the scenes, applying it on top of Android Nougat and finalizing some elements of Touch & Hover interaction. Simplicity and minimalism remain at the core.
There will also be a fingerprint scanner in the mix and the camera aspect will also evolve, as we get 22+ MP shooters at the back. A Snapdragon 820 (or maybe Snapdragon 821/823 since it’s 2017 after all) CPU will be inside, plus 4 GB of RAM are also likely. Through the grapevine we’ve heard word of full metal bodies and a $500 price tag, which is not bad at all.
Now let’s see if HMD and Foxconn can deliver on their partnership with Nokia.
