There’s a new very affordable handset in town, one that debuts the MediaTek Helio P20 CPU and offers possibly the most affordable price tag for a 6 GB RAM phone. UMi Plus E is the newcomer, priced at just $199.99 in the presale period.
Promoted as a “budget flagship”, this model is going to cost $269.99 when it debuts, which still remains a very good price. On Friday UMi will start offering a subscription for the presale of the device, but it’s not yet clear when it’ll come out. As mentioned above, this is supposed to be the first phone with a MediaTek Helio P20 processor and it also brings tech from Sharp, Sony and Samsung.
Here’s its specs list:
- Display: 5.5 inch, LTPS, Full HD (Sharp)
- Processor: MediaTek Helio P20, octa core, 2.3 GHz
- RAM: 6 GB LPDDR4
- Storage: 64 GB, microSD
- Battery: 4000 mAh (Sony), fast charge
- Camera: back – 13 MP (Samsung), PDAF, lentila cu 5 elemente; front – 5 MP
The phone has an aerospace unibody aluminum case, a fast fingerprint scanner and it seems to be quite slim. The Helio P20 chipset brings a 20% performance increase from the P10 and has higher clocked cores. The Mali T860MP2 GPU of the predecessor is replaced by a Mali T880MP2 and the clock is raised to 900 MHz. LTE Category 6 is also here and I have to admit this model sounds almost too good to be true.
The UMi Plus E official page is here and more details about its arrival will be revealed in a few days.
