In case you’re not into the whole AT&T contract routine, you might start looking for an unlocked iPhone 3G, running on the T-Mobile network. However, there’s also the option of getting an iPhone 3G from Buy.com and in case you’re expecting a device that was unlocked, think again, as the units are fully Apple-warranted and “never locked”.

These handsets will be 16GB iPhone 3Gs, but they’ll set you back $799.99, quite pricey for these times. There’s always the option of getting a unlocked-through-hack iPhone, compatible with AT&T’s network, for a much lower price, but the Buy.com units seem more legit.
