Motorola Droid is the latest Android phone that’ll be launched by Verizon on November 6 and it’ll be the first smartphone to run version 2.0 of the Android OS. The device comes with high speed web browsing, voice activated search, widgets and a customizable home screen.
There’s a brilliant 3.7 inch widescreen display on board , Android Market to download apps from, a 5 megapixel camera at the back, complete with dual LED flash, autofocus and image stabilization. A 16GB card will be bundled with the phone and you should know that Droid also handles multitasking, Exchange e-mail (pushed directly), Google Navigation and Street View.
Google Talk, YouTube (recording and playback via homescreen widget), Facebook, Amazon MP3 Store and Verizon Wireless Visual Voice Mail are all pre-loaded apps and Google Mobile Services also available on Droid. Verizon’s Android 2.0 device will hit the US next week for $199.99 with a 2 year contract, after a $100 mail in rebate. Till then, you can have virtual fun with the smartphone over here.
