The title of “world’s thinnest phone” is won and lost about 3 or 4 times during a year and right now the Vivo X5 Max handset is the holder of the title. It measures 4.75 mm in waistline and soon we may have a new champion, coming from the unknown brand Ivvi.
Apparently, this is a branch of more famous Chinese company Coolpad, that’s actually placed well in the top 3 smartphone makers in its homeland. Well, the Ivvi phone, teased above claims it has a 4.7 mm thickness and a 4.7 inch screen. This is where the details stop and speculations begin. This model doesn’t look like much, adopting the usual rectangular format and keeping the audio jack in spite of the low thickness.
We certainly expect sacrifices to be made, like the exclusion of a microSD card or a weak battery. However, the latest Gionee ultraslim handsets for example haven’t compromised that much on battery, so there’s room for a decent power source.
