The trend of 3D smartphones has passed, that’s for sure, but that doesn’t stop some Asian brands from trying out this segment. For example, VKWorld has come up with the Discovery S1 model, that offers glass-free 3D on its display.
The device packs a MediaTek MT6735 processor (quad core, 1.5 GHz) and also brings 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of ROM. On board we find an interesting IPS Full HD LG Display panel, with glasses free 3D technology and Gorilla curved glass. If I’m not mistaking this may just be the first 3D smartphone with curved glass in the world.
VKWorld Discovery S1 also brings dual SIM card slots, a microSD card slot, FM radio and a 13 megapixel Sony back camera, plus a front 5 MP shooter. A 3050 mAh battery rests inside, with the ability to be swapped and the OS of choice here is Android 5.1. The 3D model is priced at $249.99. The 3D effect is achieved using the third generation of parallax barrier, with a reduced thickness and less dizziness and sickness from 3D effects.
