Since augmented reality is the coolest thing right now on the iPhone and Android handsets, we might as well use this software for navigation purposes. The folks of Mobilizy already did, by launching Wikitude Drive, an augmented reality GPS navigation app for your handset:
Wikitude Drive comes with map-less navigation features, POI 2 POI support, social navigation features, a system that resembles a heads up display, voice commands (text to speech included), real time access to world wide navigational data and support for Android and iPhone.
This is the first fully functional mobile augmented reality navigation system tested on the Android platform and it’s a very light piece of software, as you can see in the video above.
