While being interviewed by MobiFrance, Audrey Zolghadr (Windows Mobile product manager for MS France) said that Microsoft will launch Marketplace for Windows Mobile this Fall with 600 apps included.
The service will arrive together with Windows Mobile 6.5 and it’ll host premium content, like Sim City Mobile and many other titles from the EA Games portofolio. From the same interview with Audrey Zolghadr we learn that there are already a few devices on sale that will support WM 6.5 upgrade (HTC Touch Diamond 2, Touch Pro 2, Toshiba TG01 and more).
Also, it turns out that at this moment there are 20,000 apps available for Windows Mobile and only the software compatible with the screen resolution and the touch or no-touch capacity of the display will be shown to the user. Users will also be able to test apps included in Marketplace, since there will be a 24 hours money back policy available.
