If you want a handset that’s thinner than the 7.1 mm Motorola Droid RAZR, then the answer comes straight from Japan, courtesy of the Fujitsu Arrows ES IS12F model, shown below. This device went on sale today and it offers a stunning waistline of only 6.7mm. The handset first appeared at the FCC in November and now it’s available in Japanese shops.

This ultrathin smartphone comes with decent specifications and a design that frankly disappoints me. What’s the deal with that huge upper bezel and the bad button placement? Apparently, this model runs stock Android 2.3 Gingerbread (that may be a blessing after all) and it comes with a single core 1.4 GHz processor, 512MB of RAM, a 4 inch AMOLED display, a 5 megapixel camera and NFC connectivity, plus the usual TV tuner that’s so popular in Japan.

Gorilla Glass protection and a waterproof case are also in the mix. The price tag of this anorexic smartphone is $750 and we have no idea if it will come to the USA and Europe anytime soon, but odds are it won’t… Would you buy one?
