Even if at the moment Xiaomi is using Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 810 CPU on its Mi Note range of devices, in the future the Chinese company could launch phones with Mediatek Helio X20 on board. This news comes from a new DigiTimes report according to which Xiaomi will soon place an order for deca-core Helio X20 CPUs.

This information arrives from industry sources. As you may know, the deca-core Mediatek Helio X20 processor offers a tri-cluster configuration that combines two Cortex-A72 cores clocked at 2.5 GHz, four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 2 GHz, and other four 1.4 GHz Cortex-A53 cores.

For the 2015 summer, Xiaomi prepares among other things, the Mi5 flagship, phone that could bring a 5.2 inch Quad HD display, a 16-megapixel rear camera, 3 or 4 GB of RAM memory and a 3.000 mAh battery. According to some rumors, the Snapdragon 810 CPU will power this device.
