After a series of teasers and leaks leading up to the announcement of the Xiaomi Redmi 3 as debuting on January 12th, the device is here again, this time through a screenshot posted on Weibo. It’s a screenshot from the battery area and it was posted by Lei Jun, Xiaomi founder.
We knew that the device would come with a large capacity battery, at 4100 mAh, but the results are spectacular. It seems that the display has been idle for over 18 hours and still the battery is at 94%, so the standby time is excellent. Keep in mind that 4G and WiFi were activated at the time. Xiaomi Redmi 3 is also said to offer 2 or 3 days of regular usage, according to the same official.
The device measures 8.5 mm in thickness and weighs 143 grams, not bad for such a beefy battery on board. The handset is going to integrate a 5 inch 720p display, a Snapdragon 616 processor, 2 GB of RAM and a 13 megapixel camera. It has a 5 MP front shooter, 16 GB of storage and Android 5.1.1 as the OS. Rumors talk about a $106 price tag.
