Chinese handset maker Hongmi announced today a new phone, the Hongmi 1s model, that fits in the midrange area. This newcomer is a 4.7 incher that follows the Xiaomi Hongmi model.

There’s a slight “Mini” device vibe around this handset that I just can’t shake, not that it’s bad thing or anything like that. It features a 4.7 inch IPS 720p screen, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 CPU clocked at 1.6 GHz and 1 GB of RAM. There’s also an Adreno 305 GPU on board, 8 GB of storage and a microSD card slot.

The Xiaomi MIUI V5 is found on top of Android 4.3 here and an 8 megapixel back camera is incorporated as well, plus a 1.6 MP shooter upfront. There’s a 2000 mAh battery on board and sadly we have no price for this model announced just yet. Allow me to speculate that it will be $250 at most.
