Xiaomi Mi 4i is a handset that debuted in India this spring, as sort of an upgrade to the Xiaomi Mi 4 from last year. The device has just arrived on our test table and it’s been unboxed below. Priced at $204 in India, this model offers quite good specs, even for a midranger.

It arrives inside a typical and standard cardboard box, that can be seen in the pictures. It’s quite big for a handset and inside we find the charger, adapter for the charger, USB cable, manuals, metal key used to access the slots and no headphones, apparently. The handset packs a 5 inch Sharp made 1080p display and offers an octa core Snapdragon 615 processor.

That helps it run Android 5.0 Lollipop, covered up with MIUI 6. There’s 2 GB of RAM on board, 16 GB of storage and a 13 megapixel back camera with F/2.0 aperture. Upfront there’s a 5 MP selfie camera and other specs include 4G LTE connectivity, dual SIM slots and a 3120 mAh battery. This model is very compact and comfy, with a soft touch back and 130 gram weight.

It has an unibody design and feels much lighter than it is. It’s also quite solid thanks to a magnesium frame. We’ll be back with a full review ASAP.
