A couple of days ago we saw the Xiaomi Mi 5 leaking on the web, with a Meizu-like Home button and narrow bezels and now that leak has been confirmed. The confirmation comes from none other than Lei Jun, Xiaomi founder.
There’s also a freshly leaked image below, confirming the Home button cuttout and connectors. Sources close to Xiaomi have confirmed the authenticity of the images and since we also got to see the connectors, everything is pretty much legit. Interestingly, Lei Jun said that the device may not come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, in spite of having top notch hardware otherwise.
At its core the Mi 5 will be a product for the masses and Xiaomi will try to keep its price low and also get large quantities of the CPU in order to make more models, as claimed by the same Lei Jun. We could see this flagship showcased at CES 2016, with a 20 megapixel camera and a Quad HD screen. The new picture confirms the previous leaks, with its curved screen, narrow bezels and Meizu-style Home buttons.
