Xiaomi Mi 5 has just leaked in a render and supposed hands on shot, that give us a view of this upcoming flagship. I have to admit the phone looks great, especially if you like bezel-free devices. Of course, we take the images with a grain of salt, though…
We’re excited to see Xiaomi working on a new phone, especially now that they’re the third biggest handset maker in the world. Also, next year they’re expecting to sell 100 million units, so the Xiaomi Mi 5 may play a big part in that plan. The unit shown here is very slim and elongated compared to modern flagships and it looks like it could be used easily with one hand. Rumors say we’re going to get a Quad HD screen here, a Snapdragon 805 processor and 3 GB of RAM.
The Mi 5 is expected to be announced in 2015, maybe at some tech show like CES or MWC 2015. This bezel-free approach is getting more and more popular these days, but if you look closely, you’ll see there’s a tiny edge in there, since there’s the screen black and another deeper black on the sides.
