The idea of a Xiaomi Mi MIX Nano popped up over the past days, bundled with leaks of specs, renders and pictures, but Xiaomi pulled the plug on it yesterday. A Xiaomi official was quick to dismiss it, saying the device wasn’t real.

Of course, we could see the actual device appear under another branding, or maybe resurface next year as part of another series, but nothing is sure right now. In spite of what said official claimed, the device keeps leaking on Weibo including in the recently posted picture above. Xiaomi Mi MIX made the news recently through an incredibly slim bezel display and a beautiful ceramic case.

It’s also quite easy to crack when dropped and produced in limited editions. That’s why everybody got all excited about the idea of a more mass produced Xiaomi Mi MIX Nano, possibly without a ceramic body. The handset is said to have a 5.5 inch screen, a Snapdragon 821 CPU and 4 GB of RAM. It should also bring 64 GB of storage and a “hidden fingerprint scanner”, but once again, since it was dismissed, these are all smoke in the air. We even had an early December release date rumored at some point…
