While some parts of China are waiting for the debut of the MIUI v5 and the Xiaomi M2S and M2A handsets, rumors about the very potent Xiaomi Mi3 have appeared. Sources close to Xiaomi have been saying that the next gen handset will adopt either an Nvidia Tegra 4 CPU or the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 800.
Both of them have yet to appear on the market on some devices, although the ZTE Grand Memo was showcased with the Snapdragon 800 on board at MWC 2013. In the meantime it was launched with an inferior CPU, so we’re still waiting for a Snapdragon 800 phone… or tablet, seeing those recent rumors about a Sony Xperia Tablet with this CPU choice.
Aside from the hardcore CPU, Xiaomi Mi3 is expected to feature a 5 inch Full HD display, incredibly narrow bezels, that would even put the Motorola RAZR M and RAZR i to shame. Other specs will include a 13 megapixel camera, NFC and at least 2 GB of RAM. With these features and possibly a good price, I see no reason why the handset wouldn’t break the barrier of hundreds of thousands of units preordered in a few hours.
