Last I heard, there was a Xiaomi Mi3 prototype making the rounds on the web, with 3 GB of RAM and a 5.5 inch Full HD Screen. It also had a Tegra 3 or Snapdragon 800 CPU, but sadly we’re in for quite a wait, since the handset has been delayed till September.
Xiaomi Mi3 was previously spotted in the AnTuTu benchmark with the Nvidia Tegra 4 CPU and now fresh rumors from China have claimed that Tegra 4 will be dropped because of issues. This will cause a delay of a few months, as Snapdragon 800 replaces the Nvidia CPU. Talks between Xiaomi and Nvidia are said to have broken down, because of the lack of an agreement.
Everyone was waiting for the Mi3 to be unveiled this week, since the company behind it posted a teaser of a red cloth covering an unreleased device. It could be the Red Rice handset in the end… Back to the rumors, the Xiaomi Mi3 is also supposed to use a 3500 mAh battery, a new version of MIUI and a 13 megapixel back camera.
