Xiaomi’s big event today indeed brought us the Redmi Note 3, as teased over the past days. On this occasion we also learned the device’s specs and price tag, which are detailed after the break. We’re dealing with a 5.5 inch metallic phablet here.
The smartphone has a full metal case, unlike its predecessor and we noticed here curved edges, just like the ones of the latest iPhones. Inside we find an octa core MediaTek Helio X10 processor, while upfront rests a 5.5 inch Full HD display. The main camera at the back is a 13 megapixel shooter with LED flash, autofocus and PDAF 0.1 ultra fast focusing.
This model is a dual SIM device, with 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 ac and it runs Lollipop with MIUI 7 on top. As you can see, below the main camera there’s a fingerprint scanner, that unlocks the handset in a mere 0.3 seconds. Redmi Note 3 is available in two versions, one with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage, plus a premium model with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage.
For selfies we rely on a 5 MP camera upfront and the whole package is crammed into an 8.65 mm thick chassis. The product weighs 164 grams, which include the 4000 mAh battery. Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is available in 3 colors: silver, gold and grey and it’s priced at $140 in the 2 GB RAM/ 16 GB storage version, or $172 for the 3 GB RAM/32 GB storage combo.
