Yahoo has just launched new Mail and Messenger apps for Android phones, available right now in the Android Market. Gone is the manual setup involved by Yahoo mailboxes, as now you have an easier way to handle your Yahoo inbox on your Android phone.
Thanks to the new standalone app, you can receive push notifications of new emails, send mails to Yahoo contacts or people in your phonebook, or even search messages by subject, keywords or sender. The new software also allows one to use rich text formatting in messages, view and download attachments and send photos as attachments straight from the handset’s camera or photo gallery.
Yahoo has also released a new Yahoo Messenger app, that can be launched straight from the Mail app, supporting friend messaging, status changes and instant messaging via SMS text message. Push notifications are once again available for this app and you can send photos from the camera of photo gallery to other Messenger users.
