Although this is probably the worst handset name ever, Zii EGG is actually a very hot smartphone created by the innovative company Zii Labs. This is not the average phone you’ll be finding in your local shop, but rather a device that manufacturers will purchase and rebrand, or a smartphone for developers to test apps on.
This iPhone-like device comes with a 3.5 inch capacitive multi-touch display (320 x 480 pixels), up to 32GB of internal NAND Flash memory, 256MB RAM, WiFi 802.11 b.g, an accelerometer, a full size SDHC slot (cards up to 32GB), and a 1200 Li-ion battery. X-Fi audio processing is also on the specs list, together with HDTV support via HD Cable, composite video in and out and a rear facing HD camera.
Zii EGG also uses a GPS, an ambient light sensor, USB 2.0 Mini-B and supports the Linux-based Plazma OS and of course, Android. This beauty even supports OpenGL ES 3D graphics and 1080p video output, so it’ll be a joy for developers and OEMs to mess with it. Here’s a video of this “beast”, that will be available for pre-order for about $399:
