ZTE is known for making lower end smartphones and competing with Huawei in the same market segment. Now they deliver yet another rivaling model, the ZTE Kis, that landed on Virgin Media in the UK yesterday, priced at 50 quid. ZTE Kis comes with a Pay As You Go offer and you can see the device below.

We’re dealing with a 3.5 inch 480 x 320 screen on board of the newcomer, while under the hood we find an 800 MHz processor, 256 MB of RAM, 512MB of storage and a microSD card slot. At the back there’s a 3.2 megapixel camera with 2x digital zoom. Not a bad deal for that price, right? Too bad for that storage, that’s bound to cause some problems when you install apps, but at least you get a free 2GB card in the box, in case you didn’t know.

The handset runs just Gingerbread, but be honest, you didn’t expect Android 4.0 ICS on it, did you? Other specs include Bluetooth 2.1, WiFi, GPS, triband 3G and a chassis that’s 11.5mm thick and 120 grams heavy. Powering this handset is a 1,400 mAh battery, good enough for a full day of functioning. Virgin Media offers the handset from yesterday and you can buy it from their site right now.
