ZTE Skate, the successor to the Blade model has just been confirmed for an international launch that might involve the USA. Available in Hong Kong, Brazil and Spain, this handset was rebranded to Monte Carlo by carrier Orange in the UK and France.
This 4.3 inch smartphone is coming to the US, that’s for sure, but the price and launch date are unknown. What’s really impressive is that ZTE is preparing no less than 30 new smartphone models, available till the year end, according to executive VP He Shiyou. ZTE Skate is 11.35mm thick, weighs 148 grams and borrows its name from the skateboard and also borrows the design.
Running on Android 2.3 and launching in Brazil on September 12, this model comes with the following specs:
- CPU: 800 MHz, Qualcomm MSM7227T
- Memory: 512MB RAM, 512MB ROM
- Display: 4.3 inches, 480 x 800 pixels
- Connectivity: GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, HSDPA, WiFi, Bluetooth
- Camera: 5MP, LED flash
Wonder when this model will reach the US… any lucky guesses?
