ZTE Tania is yet another new Windows Phone device that’s now available in France via carrier SFR. Strangely enough, the ZTE branding was removed from the device, that only sports a Windows Phone branding right now… It may be because some people consider the likes of ZTE and Huawei Chinese companies that only make low end gadgets.

Anyway, this smartphone looks good, or at least good enough to rival the Nokia Lumias, if you ask me. ZTE Tania is priced at 270 EUR with taxes, while Nokia Lumia 710 will cost 270 euros without taxes, so a bit more. For this low price, the Tania offers a 4.3 inch display, a 1GHz processor from yesteryear and most likely 16GB of storage and a mediocre 5 megapixel camera.

Frankly there’s not much of a difference between this model and a LG Optimus 7 from last year, while the price is a bit lower on the side of the LG, actually 100 EUR lower in some countries. Windows Phone has become a great excuse to launch lower specced smartphones and demand a price that makes them look appealing to the general public. The problem here is the lack of differentiation between brands…
